How reporting works
- Choose a place and time.We do not store unnecessarily precise public locations.
- Describe what you saw.Seen, not seen and unclear remain distinct outcomes.
- Choose what may happen with your report.Research use, public display and checking your photo or video are separate choices. Nothing is preselected.
Seeing nothing can also be useful
Not seeing anything straight away does not mean there was no sea sparkle. We therefore ask how long you watched, how dark it was and whether you moved the water. A ten-minute observation gives us more information, but you can also report a quick look.
You remain in control
After submitting, you receive a personal management link. It lets you withdraw consent and remove a public entry. Your full observation and attached files are not made public.
